The Barock Project idea born from desire to spread the finest and perfect structure of classic music (mainest baroque music) with rock-style and a little bit of jazz harmony, all supported by a pop song structure.
Our intention is to make relive the '70s progressive-rock love .
This project born from the keyboardist Luca Zabbini , pianist and composer at the "O.Vecchi" musical institute in Modena.
His passion for famous keyboardist Keith Emerson (Emerson,Lake & Palmer) , has increased in him the desire to play a full range of style , from classical to rock and jazz. Luca is the composer of many songs of the band and since 1990 he played in several bands (rock,blues,funky, as classical pianist , several jam-sessions).
During the summer of 2004 the bass player GB Giorgi and the drummer Giacomo Calabria joined to the band.
Giambattista Giorgi , young bassist influenced by rock sounds with big passion for jazz.
Giambattista and Luca already played together in 1996 with a progressive tribute band (ELP,PFM,ecc...)
Giacomo Calabria , ex drummer of the band , took a part in the recording of album "Rebus" (2009) , and then came out .
Luca Pancaldi sings in several bands since 1996 and in 2001 enter in an Iron Maiden's tribute band called "Children of the Damned". With this band in 2002 he started a long tournee all around Europe with historical Maiden's singer Paul Di'Anno.
The Barock Project music is perfect for places like theatres and festivals.
In January 2007 the band performed live with a string quartet , with arrangements wrote by Luca Zabbini , at Bologna Theater and filmed a dvd called “Rock in Theater”.
In December 2007, with the label Musea Records  , “Misteriose Voci” is the first album on the sales with very good reviews and interviews from all the world (“Passion Progressive” France ; “Progressive World.net” USA ; “ProgNosis” USA ; “MovimentiProg” Italy ; “Raw and Wild Magazine” Italy ; “Manticornio” Mexico ; “Prog Nose” Belgium ; “PRPM” Brazil ; “ProgWereld” Netherlands ; ecc…)
In summer 2009 the band release the second album “Rebus” with the Italian label Mellow Records , with very good reviews from all the world. (you can read it here in "Press Reviews" section )

L’idea del gruppo Barock Project nasce dalla necessità di fondere la raffinatezza e la perfetta struttura della musica classica (soprattutto quella di origine barocca) insieme alla stilistica del genere rock con un pizzico di armonia jazz , il tutto supportato dalla classica struttura di una canzone.
Inoltre la nostra intenzione è quella di risvegliare l’amore per il rock progressivo degli anni settanta e di sfogare questa nostra passione
Questo progetto nasce inizialmente da tre studenti dell’istituto musicale “O.Vecchi” di Modena , che condividono lo stesso amore per la musica classica e rock : Luca , Martino e Furio.
Luca Zabbini , pianista, studente presso il conservatorio , suona le tastiere dall’età di cinque anni. La sua passione per Keith Emerson , tastierista del famoso gruppo Emerson Lake & Palmer , ha alimentato in lui la voglia di suonare con ampio arco d’interesse dallo stile classico allo stile rock, passando per il jazz. Compositore di molti dei pezzi del gruppo , ha a che fare con la musica dal 1990 e dal '95 suona in diverse formazioni (rock , blues , funky , come pianista classico , partecipa ad innumerevoli jam-sessions con grande divertimento).
Furio e Martino prendono parte al gruppo per tutto il primo anno , poi decidono di abbandonare.
Alla fine del 2003 cominciano le composizioni e le registrazioni dei primi pezzi, fra i quali Another World .
Durante l’estate del 2004 avviene l’unione con il bassista Giambattista Giorgi ed il batterista Giacomo Calabria.
G.B. Giorgi , giovane bassista d’indole e sonorità rock influenzato dalla passione per il jazz .
Luca e G.B. suonavano già insieme dall’età di quattordici anni in un gruppo che eseguiva cover di Emerson Lake & Palmer , PFM , ecc…
Giacomo Calabria , batterista napoletano , proveniente da plurime esperienze in campo rock-progressive , si unisce al gruppo per pochi anni , prendendo parte ad alcuni live ed alle incisioni del disco "Rebus", per poi uscire dal gruppo.
Luca Pancaldi ,cantante , milita in diverse formazioni bolognesi sin dal 1996 e dal 2001 inoltre entra in veste di cantante nei Children of the damned,tributo ai mitici Iron maiden,che nei primi mesi del 2002 diventano la band di Paul Di'anno(primo storico cantante dei maiden),con un'intensa attività live in tutta Europa.
Nel 2007 il gruppo parte per una minitournèe in tutta Italia accompagnato da un quartetto d’archi , con arrangiamenti scritti per l’occasione dal tastierista Luca Zabbini.
Il dvd “Rock In Theatre 2007” girato proprio durante la minitournèe presso il teatro comunale di Crevalcore , è uscito sul mercato americano e giapponese.
La musica del gruppo è molto curata nei minimi particolari ed è rivolta particolarmente a teatri e manifestazioni all’aperto.
Nel 2009 i Barock Project terminano il loro secondo lavoro intitolato “Rebus” uscitoin America , Giappone , Australia e mezza Europa , con ottime recensioni da pubblico e critica.
